Some U.S. States see uptick in COVID-19 deaths

Recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that through Nov. 11, eight states saw increases in COVID-19 deaths.

These states include Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Federal COVID aid helped boost telehealth expansion in rural America

Hospital-based Covid-19 transmissions became less serious after Omicron--study

 

Hospital-acquired (nosocomial) COVID-19 transmission was associated with higher rates of 30-day mortality and more severe disease during the early phases of the pandemic, but the risk has lessened in the post-Omicron landscape, according to a new study from JAMA Network Open based on outcomes seen in Sweden during the past 3 years.
